Arboretum guides introduce visitors to the Arboretum, its collections and Hawaii's natural and cultural history by providing short guided tours. The visitor's experience is vastly enhanced when they have the opportunity to participate in a guided tour. This is a wonderful way to share your Aloha with visitors to the Arboretum or share your enthusiasm for native plants, tropical plants, Hawaiian natural and cultural history, gardening, or your appreciation for nature. Guides typically enjoy the camaraderie of small guides training classes and working together in this beautiful location. No experience is necessary, but guides should enjoy working with people and be enthusiastic about sharing the beauty of the arboretum with visitors.Guide training consists of 8 weekly meetings, then occasional optional sessions throughout the year. Guides are expected to provide at least two tours per month. Tours are scheduled Monday-Saturday at 10 a.m.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Lyon Arboretum

Take the University Ave. exit on H1. Drive mauka (towards the mountains), pass the University and continue up the valley. At the Intersection of Oahu Ave.,and University Ave, take Oahu Ave. (middle fork) and continue up the valley. At the 5 way intersection (Lowry Ave, Oahu Ave. Manoa Rd.) take Manoa Road. Continue driving mauka past Paradise Park. The Arboretum driveway is at the Manoa Falls trailhead. Parking for Arboretum visitors is at the top of the driveway.
