If you think understanding cat and dog speak is rough, try Japanese! The Society's Japanese Exchange Program needs translators when 30 to 50 Japanese students visit the shelter in March. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to noon for three weekdays in a row.
Must be 16 years of age or older. Must be fluent in Japanese and English. Previous translation experience preferred. Must attend volunteer orientation which is approximately 2 hours in length.

Directions:

From Ewa: Take H-1 Freeway to Exit 25A/King Street; make the first right (at Moiliili sign) and stay to the right after the stop light; continue to the right (about 75 feet) and then make a left into our parking lot.
From Hawaii Kai: Take H-1 Freeway to Exit 25A/King Street; come into the right hand lane as you come out of the freeway exit; make an immediate right into the first driveway.
Parking: If the front parking lot is full, pull out of our parking lot and make a right turn into Kehena Place, just makai of our building. About 50 feet up this street, on the right, is the entrance to our other parking lot.
Nearest Bus Stop: Once in Honolulu take Bus Route #1, 1 minute minute walk |
