Without a doubt, your services are helping me maintain my sanity I live alone with my 89 year old mother. During the week when I work, I have a private caregiver which is costing me a lot. “My shift” starts right after work, and I care for mom from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. My only break is when your services kick in. Mahalo nui loa.
I am the only active family member participating in my sister’s care. This program gave me a much/and long overdue respite relief and support. It recharged my soul with a sense of community and that we all need to take in a constant flow of giving and receiving.
Thank you for teaming me with my volunteerfor shopping. She is a delightful girl. She is dependable and a delight. Let me explain myself. I am 78 years old, partially disabled, have no car and I need a walker to walk. So you can see what a wonderful help she is to me. Thank you again for helping me. It means a lot to have a helper.
The weekly support and generosity of spirit is so uplifting. My volunteer is such a generous spirit. I am truly blessed to have her assistance and friendship. Thank you so very much.
No previous experience required. We provide training and orientation.

Overall Experience

The best medicine I had in years
 |
I had a problem sorting paperwork and because I have MS my stress levels were affecting my health. Then MIVC came to my rescue in a most unusual way. They paired me up with a 16 year old girl and she became my treasure. She listened to what I needed, was always on time, and recommended some better ideas than I had for organizing. I came to think of her as a friend and certainly as one of Maui's outstanding youth! It is wonderful to know that people like this exist. I know her life will be full of wonderful experiences and that many people will benefit from her caring nature.
