Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on April 7, 2010 |
Join the Hawai'i Nature Center, Maui on the first Saturday of every month, from 9am-1pm for a day of fun-filled service work with an optional potluck to follow. Volunteers will work on a variety of tasks in the garden including weeding, planting and digging. This garden will be utilized by our staff of environmental educators to illustrate concepts already discussed in our elementary school programs, such as the plant cycle, the nutrient cycle, the food chain and sustainability.
Volunteers must be able to work with minimal supervision. We have no age requirements, however some of the work we do may be too difficult for small children. Most teenagers can easily participate. Use your best judgment. Please wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable work attire. Pants and a hat are usually a good idea. This opportunity is sponsored by: Hawai'i Nature Center, Maui
We need volunteers who are free at these times
