Do you like to assist families? The Queen's Medical Center Surgery Waiting Room is seeking volunteers to be the liaison between the patients' family and professional staff of Surgical Services. The volunteer plays a vital role in being the contact for family who are waiting for patients undergoing surgery and recovering from anesthesia. They facilitate communication between the family, the nursing and medical staff. Volunteers also help to assure those waiting that patients are receiving excellent care. After a volunteer has completed basic training, they can begin volunteering in the Surgery Waiting Room. Shifts for this position are from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. To be a Queen’s volunteer, you will need a two-step TB clearance, attend Orientation from the Volunteer Office and purchase a Queen's volunteer uniform. Training is provided.
Proficient in English (written and verbal), superior customer service, establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and staff, desire to please, care, compassion, and aloha.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Queen's Medical Center
