Palace Greeter – (Ambassador of Aloha)
During the days of the Hawaiian monarchy, Iolani Palace was the social center of the Kingdom and the Royal Family was world renowned for its gracious hospitality. Guests were welcomed by the King and Queen with a true spirit of aloha. As official greeters of this grand Historic House Museum, you will extend that same hospitality and graciousness to our guests today. You will be stationed on the Palace Lānai to welcome visitors, check tickets, distribute booties and present important House Rules.

Palace Guardian – (Steward)
Guardians provide assistance to both docents and visitors. This is a very important position. As a guardian you will provide protection for Palace artifacts by guarding individual rooms and assisting docents as they move their group throughout the Palace.

Docent –
Our docents interpret and share the history of ‘Iolani Palace for the benefit of native Hawaiian,the people of Hawaii and the world. Requirements include forty hours of Guardian service and completion of a Docent training course. Good public speaking and interest in Hawaiian History.

Minimum Volunteer Requirements Include:
• A commitment of 16 hours per month for a total of 3 months.
• Attendance an orientation session
• A personalized training session
• An agreement to serve with kindness, compassion and humility!
