Maui - senior citizen mentors work with frail elders
Last updated on May 7, 2008

People age 50+ "senior citizens" are trained and then are paired with frail elders in assisted living, nursing homes, senior centers, and other places where frail elders gather. We do the same activities as we do with the children, but they are modified for frail elders. We meet once a week for an hour. All participants improve their cognitive skills, such as memory, focus and concentration, in addition to improving their balance and coordination, which prevents falls.

training every August and September.
