Teach on the Reef
Last updated on April 24, 2008

The Aquarium's next training for Exhibit Interpreters will be May 13-29, 2008. Exhibit Interpreters share natural history information on our outdoor reef exhibit and inside our galleries, guide visitor observations and answer questions about Hawaii’s marine environment. The training course covers interpretation and hospitality skills, and information on exhibit operations and various marine sciences.
The FREE two and a half week training is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (6:30 to 9:00 p.m.) and Saturday mornings (9 a.m. to noon) here in the Waikiki Aquarium’s classroom. One-on-one sessions are then scheduled and trainees will receive on-the-job training. In exchange for this training, we ask that volunteers commit to work one two-hour shift per week for a minimum period of six months (shifts are available daily from 9 – 11 am, 11 – 1 pm, 1 - 3pm, or 3 - 5pm).

If you are 18 years old or more, able to volunteer for a minimum of 6 months after your training period, willing to learn and share, join us on the Waikiki shoreline. Call 440-9020 Monday through Friday, 9am-noon to reserve your place in the class or for additional information.
