The mission of Helping Hands Hawaii is to strengthen our community by enhancing the quality of people's lives through the delivery of goods and services to those in need.

Description:
Helping Hands Hawai'i coordinates a core of specialized services that fulfill a continuum of care. Separately, these programs represent distinct areas of need.
The Bilingual Access Line; provides translation services in 16 primary languages.
The Community Clearing House; connects individuals & families in need of the basic living necessities through donations, free of cost.
Ready to Learn; a community service project co-chaired by US Senator Daniel K. Inouye, distributes basic school supplies for children & families in need.


History:
Established in 1941 and incorporated in 1974, Helping Hands Hawai'i evolved from the establishment of the Honolulu Council of Social Agencies' Volunteer Placement Bureau (VPB).
