Malama Pono Youth Mentoring Program
Logo

Malama Pono is a mentoring program serving the Windward Areas of O'ahu. Our goal is to support children that have a parent incarcerated by pairing them with adult from their community once a week for about an hour.

Description:
Malama Pono is a program enabled by federal funding to mentor children that have one or both parents incarcerated. Mentors are paired with mentees by interest and preference. They meet an average of 1-2 hours a week to just have fun or work on selected activities. It is an excellent chance to make a difference in your community, show Aloha, and make a lifelong impact on a child.

History:
This is the fourth year of the Malama Pono Mentoring program. We have been recognized as one of the top four mentoring programs in the country for mentoring children of prisoners. We are now hoping to expand to other parts of Windward O'ahu and expand services.
