Beauvais Ballet
Logo

We are creating a harmonious, thriving community that recognizes meaning and value of art for everyone and enriches itself through the broad application of dance and creative expression in daily life.

Beauvais Ballet's mission is to erase social and cultural divisions between people, including audiences and the artist-dancer-performer. We do this by being a nationally recognized world-class dance company that offers live and digital media performances and education in Contemporary Ballet. Contemporary Ballet = based in ancient tradition, made relevant to today's audiences.

Description:
Our objectives include to:

• Develop new works;
• Increase the number of performances offered on a regular basis;
• Create a year-round company that attracts the best talent;
• Produce a wide range of dances that appeal to a variety of tastes;
• Build a strong touring program;
• Provide concert dance to the entire community including productions that appeal to specific ages and ethnic groups;
• Build a pre-professional, recreational, and in-the-schools dance training program.

Why dance?
Humans are feeling creatures who rationalize. Dance provides a unique opportunity to recognize our feelings and give them form.

Why Ballet?
Ballet dates back 500 years. Over that time, Ballet coalesced into a beautiful, athletic art that attracts people from ALL walks of society. Beauvais Ballet aims to help shape the new face of Ballet - new themes, new steps, new perspectives, a new philosophy.

History:
Beauvais Ballet is a brand new organization. We are Hawaii's professional, contemporary ballet troupe. We provide concert performances, lecture demonstrations, dance workshops, and ongoing classes for children through adults.

Our educational program includes EVERY BODY DANCES! a program for children with learning disabilities, autism and at-risk youth is the first of its kind in the state.

We are partners with Dance for Parkinson's Disease (a program of the Mark Morris Dance Group).

Our in-the-schools program uses the methods of the National Dance Institute (started by Jacques D'Amboise). We sponsor free classes and free performances in April to celebrate National Dance Week.
