Mission: To actively promote the development of conditions and resources that make it possible for deaf, hard-of-hearing and deaf-blind people to individually and collectively fulfill their own needs, responsibilities, and aspirations.

Objective: To build bridges in communication between the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing and Hearing communities, and to serve as the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Community Center of Hawaii.

Description:
Programs
-provided Family American Sign Language classes. Deaf and hard hearing children and their families learn to communicate together in a language they all can share.
-Hawaii Sign Language Festival Showcasing the language, arts and culture of the deaf and hard hearing communities of Hawaii.
-Ka Kuli of Hawaii Hawaii first Deaf TV Show.
Transition workshop Series Expanding the career and post-secondary educational goals of deaf and hard hearing students.
-Annual Tax Assistance Program Free interpreted tax assistance at HSOD through the federal tax program, VITA.
-Information and Referral locating and providing access to a broad range of resources and services for deaf and hard hearing people.
-Puplic Awareness Campaign Public understanding and awareness through events and the media and advocating on a broad range of issues concerning deaf and hard of hearing people.
