The mission of Seagull Schools is to respond to the early educational needs of Hawaii's diverse community by providing early education programs of the highest value.
Description:
Seagull Schools, Inc. began in 1972 as a private, non-profit corporation located in the Christ Church facility in Kailua. It soon developed into a rich preschool experience for 38 children of a mixed socio-economic background.
Over the past thirty years the school has thrived on growth and response to community needs for early education.
In the process, Seagull has grown to 90 full-time and 35 part-time employees. Three of the original five employees are still employed by the school.
We are made up of 6 preschools- Kailua, Early Education Center, and Kapolei, Ocean Pointe, and Pre-Plus at Kapolei Elementary on O'ahu, and a school on the Big Island-Mauna Lani. Also included in the Seagull Family is the Senior Adult Center, Food Service and the Business Office.
At our center we have created rich, safe and stimulating environments to enhance children's growth. The unique world each child brings is complemented by creative and developmentally appropriate learning materials and by energetic, warm and imaginative teachers. Emphasis is placed on developing the "whole" child-physical, language, cognitive and social-emotional. A healthy self-concept is important.
We believe that by respecting the child as an active participant in our daily activities and providing a predictable environment where children can anticipate and make choices about their day, we are setting the stage for developmental challenges and successes. We like to work closely with parents in a combined commitment to the optimum development and loving care of every child.

The center is located at Christ Church on Kailua Rd. We are closest to Castle Hospital and on the same side of the road as the hospital.
