Talk About Curing Autism - Hawaii Chapter
Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) is a national organization dedicated to educating, empowering, and supporting families affected by autism. For families who have just received the autism diagnosis, TACA aims to speed up the cycle time from the autism diagnosis to effective treatments. TACA helps to strengthen the autism community by connecting families and the professionals who can help them, allowing them to share stories and information to help people with autism be the best they can be.
Description:
In Hawaii, TACA provides monthly support group meetings for families. We meet on the last Monday of every month in the 2nd floor sanctuary of the Kaimuki Christian Church from 7-9:00pm. Additionally, TACA provides a free lending library, educational seminars, and social events for families confronting autism.
History:
TACA was established in November 2000 in Huntington Beach, CA. Until 2006, TACA delivered support services to families affected by autism only in California. In 2007, TACA added the National Initiative to begin to reach out to families across the US. Today, TACA serves over 14,000 families. The TACA Hawaii chapter was initiated in January 2008.
