Tails Of Aloha
To provide laughter and joy to those who are in hospitals, hospice, care homes, and schools through our animal assisted therapy program, animal assisted activities program, reading program for schools, and animal education for schools. To assist the homeless and elderly with feeding their animal companions. To rehome animal companions who have lost their homes due to foreclosure, prolonged illness, or loss of their owner.
Description:
We visit various locations with our animal companions to provide a sense of love and compassion that only an animal can provide. We assist the homeless in the feeding of their animals. We assist in rehoming animals in cases of foreclosure, prolonged illness or death of an owner. We run an animal sanctuary which provides care for the animals until a permanent home can be found. We assist schools and libraries with their reading programs. We teach children how to care for animals, what consitutes animal abuse, how to approach an animal they are not familiar with.
History:
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization since 2008. We have been volunteering as a group since 1999, with teams on Oahu, Maui, Hawaii, and Yokohama, Japan.
